Corinth Athletics

It’s hard to believe we’ve been in school for almost four weeks. Everyone has settled into the back-to-school routine and athletics is in full swing. I’ve had the opportunity to attend several athletic events over the last several weeks and have been pleased with the athletic performance and sportsmanship of our students. This Friday night is our first home football game and I hope you will come out and support the Warrior Football Team. Don’t forget our other sports that are going on at this time. Volleyball, Slow-Pitch Softball and Cross Country are underway and these athletes are working hard and deserve our support. Let’s support all of our Warrior athletic programs.

Universal Screening

Universal screening is taking place in K-8 grade in the district. Students are taking math and reading assessments to give teachers a better idea of what students know so we an better plan instructional strategies. You will receive information soon about a meeting that you can attend to receive specific information about individual student performance.

In the Schools

I visited several of our schools today and saw many exciting things. Students and teachers were actively engaged in learning. It was exciting seeing students perform science experiments in class at Corinth Junior High and South Corinth. This makes learning more fun and relevant. I visited with several students in the library at East and they shared with me the books they were reading. Students at CJHS were completing sportsmanship training prior to participating in athletic events. It’s been a great day and there’s more to come with a volleyball game and Meet the Warrior night.
